FIDE JUNIOR SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

The FIDE Junior Scholarships shall be awarded to all respective Age-Group CHAMPION of NAG 2011 in an Awarding Ceremony to be organized by Malaysian Chess Federation.
FIDE promised to support Junior development through Malaysian Chess Federation amount US5,000 for 5 years.

The top 4 players (based on tie-break results) from this event shall qualify for representation to WORLD, ASIAN, ASEAN & other Age-Group events subject to acceptance of conditions of all Malaysian Chess Federation regulations.

PAIRING CARD

Saya mendapat email pertanyaan daripada Pn. Nooaziah daripada Sabah untuk mendapatkan contoh kad Pairing.

Pairing kad ini adalah sistem manual swiss-paring yang asas di gunakan sebelum pengunaan komputer untuk Pasukan dan Individu.  Sekarang penggunaan program swiss-46 (individu), swiss manager ( Pasukan & Individu) meluas digunakan untuk mengendalikan kejohanan.

Saya mula mempelajari pada awal 90-an di Kejohanan Catur Merdeka berpasukan  dan Individu BPM (PCMM Event) di PWTC.  Guru terawal saya adalah IA Ibrahim Yaakob. Selanjutnya pemahaman daripada IA Hamid majid & IA Latif Mohamaed.

Cara pengunaan manual
- Digunakan kadang kala sebagai back-up jika berlaku black out (terputus bekalan elektrik)
- Sesuai digunakan jika bilangan kurang daripada 36 pemain.

Cara-cara pengunaan
Semua pemain  menpunyai No Ranking mengikut susunan kekuatan rating.

Contoh jika ada 16 pemain bermain 4 pusingan.
Pusingan 1
No 1  bertemu No 9 ( Putih vs Hitam)
No 2 bertemu No 10 (Hitam vs Putih)
(Dan seterusnya).

Pusingan Ke-2-4
1.Kad pairing akan dimulakan daripada  ' 2 kad pair' mata teratas
2.Diikuti pairing dengan '2 kad pair' mata yang paling rendah
3. Pairing  '2 kad pair' mata dibahagian diantaranya
Pastikan pemain tidak mendapat warna hitam/putih 3kali berturut-turut
Note: Exp: 3.5 vs 3 mata, 3 Vs 3 mata, 3 Vs 2.5 mata..  pemain tidak akan bertemu dengan 4 Vs 3 mata jika ada pemain lain mempunyai 3.5 mata. Pemain juga tidak akan bertemu 3 Vs 2 mata jika ada pemain mempunyai 2.5 mata.

Baru-baru ini sistem manual ini saya gunakan semasa sambutan Hari Wilayah - Integrasi bersama pemain OKU di Dataran Merdeka.  Memandangkan bilangan yang sedikit dan tiada power point elektrik untuk komputer dan sebelumnya tiada perancangan  untuk diadakan kejohanan.

Asian Youth Championships 2011

The National Chess Federation of the Philippines is pleased to invite all Asian national federations to participate in the Asian Youth Championships

Date: 14 to 22 May 2011

Venue: Subic Freeport, Olongapo City, Philippines.

Categories: Under-8, under-10, under-12, under-14, under- 16 and under-18) 

Participart: 
2.1 Each National Federation can enter one (1) player in each of the Under 10, 12, 14, 16 & 18
(Boys & Girls) categories, totaling a maximum of ten (10) invited Players.

Zone 3.3 Championships 2011 (Open and Women’s)

The National Chess Federation of the Philippines has the honor to invite all Chess Federations in Zone 3.3 affiliated to FIDE to participate in the Zone 3.3 Zonal Championships 2011

Date: 23rd to 31st May 2011 
Venue: Tagaytay City, Philippines.

Entry Fee:
The registration fee is $150 per player and $100 for each accompanying person.
The organizer shall provide free full board and lodging during the tournament for GMs > 2500
and WGMs > 2350 on the May 2011 FIDE Rating List. One male and one female of CACDEC
countries Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia will also be given free hospitality.
Other players from
the national federations can participate in this tournament upon payment of their board and
lodging. All participants must stay in the Official Hotel(s). The cost is US$75 for single room
and US$50 for twin room including three meals.

Qualification for the World Championship
The top two in the Open Zonal shall qualify for the World Cup 2011 and the winner of the Women’s Zonal shall qualify for the Women’s World Cup.

CATATAN PERIBADI:
Geraldine: Pertama kali saya bertemu dengan beliau semasa di Wisma Belia, Kuala Lumpur pada tahun 1991, 20 tahun yang lalu.  Pada masa itu berlangsung satu Kejohanan Catur Merdeka berpasukan.  En Latif Mohamad selaku setiausaha Kehormat MCF  pada masa itu.  Saya mewakili Pasukan Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).  En Latif menempatkan saya satu bilik dengan Geraldine. Pada pandangan saya beliau sangat cantik (Bedarah campuran  India & Cina) dan peramah.  Saya bertemu dengan ibu  dan kembarnya.  Kami bermain satu game, di pertengahan permaianan  beliau offer draw.  Tapi  kini beliau telah berhijrah ke Australia dan bekerja di Hong Kong.
Eliza Hanum:  Pertama kali saya bertemu beliau semasa  di Kejohanan Catur Terbuka di MPSA Shah Alam 23 tahun lalu.  Ketika itu saya tinggal di kawasan Balai Bomba Section 15 Shah Alam  dan juga merupakan  kejohanan catur Terbuka pertama kalinya saya sertai.  Beliau mempunyai ramai peminat dan popular di kalangan pemain lelaki yang seangkatan dengannya. Kali terakhir berjumpa beliau pada 2 tahun sudah di keluarganya. Kini beliau , ayahnya Hj Ibrahim (Timbalan Presiden MCF) dan adiknya NWM Eliza Hanim menetap di Shah Alam Selangor.
Wan Khye Teng:  Saya mengenai beliau ketika kecil lagi.  Pertama kali saya melihat beliau  di Kejohanan yang sering dianjurkan oleh Persatuan catur Selangor di Klang Valley Club di Subang Jaya dan di Sunway College.  Ibunya Pn Ester sangat peramah dan beliau juga sangat aktif dan  perwatakannya sangat periang, manis  dan sering bertanya.  Kini beliau sedang belajar di United State.
